When Harry Met Sally

It was almost more than ten years that I watched "When Harry Met Sally", a 1989 romantic comedy film written by Nora Ephron and directed by Rob Reiner. It stars Billy Crystal as Harry Burns and Meg Ryan as Sally Albright.

The plot start in 1977, when both Harry and Sally met to share the drive to New York City after they finished college at the University of Chicago. The film jumps through their lives as they both search for love but failed and bumping into each other time and time again. Finally a close friendship blooms between them, and they both like having a friend of the opposite sex. The underlying theme of the film is the argument about male-female relationship; can men and women be friends or does always sex get in the way?

Nevertheless, "When Harry Met Sally" is a great new year love story that stay all time.

"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

Our life is just like an open book with pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves and its first chapter is New Year's Day. Dont keep it blank as it will never able to fill it back again and make sure it worth reading.

God bless!

You Are Not Alone

Found this song - You're Not Alone by Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) which released in August 1995 and wish to delicate to those who are going thru trails, isolation, tribulation and/or prosecution in life.

"I believe that life is a journey, often difficult and sometimes incredibly cruel, but we are well equipped for it if only we tap into our talents and gifts and allow them to blossom. A happy life consists not in the absence, but in the mastery of hardships."

YOU ARE NOT ALONE - Michael Jackson

Another day has gone
I'm still all alone
How could this be
You're not here with me
You never said goodbye
Someone tell me why
Did you have to go
And leave my world so cold

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

You are not alone
I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
You are not alone

All alone
Why, oh

Just the other night
I thought I heard you cry
Asking me to come
And hold you in my arms
I can hear your prayers
Your burdens I will bear
But first I need your hand
So forever can begin

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Then something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay
For you are not alone
I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
And you are not alone

Whisper three words and I'll come runnin'
And girl you know that I'll be there
I'll be there

You are not alone
I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay
You are not alone
I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

You are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay
For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

For you are not alone

Merry Christmas 2009

Be it whether a Christian or non-Christian and everyone know that 25 December is a day to rejoice in the meaning of the birth of the Christ eventhough there's no evidence that He's born on 25 December.

Found these websites thru googling and kind of like it - The Real Meaning of Christmas - Charlie Brown and The True Meaning of Christmas - a short story explains the meaning of each of the different popular ornaments. A good way to show and tell the children of what Christmas really means other than Santa Claus, gifts exchange, celebrations and candies.

Personally, is a day for us to reflect ourselves in the Christmas as what it really means as being a Christian? In Galatians 5:22, "To love, joy, peace, longsuffering (kindness), gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and temperance (self-control)." No doubt it is weak and hard being flesh, nevertheless, we have to train our flesh and captivate every thought to the obedience of Christ. For He's the reason for the season.

If we truly believe that we can celebrate the birth of Christ on this chosen day, that He came to give Himself, we can touch every single life we come in contact with. Believe in the true miracle of Christmas and we will always rejoice.

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Merry Christmas to everyone and have a blessing year ahead! May the miraculous gift of Christ fill your home with faith, your heart with hope and your life with love.

God bless us everyone!

I BELIEVE - Natalie Grant

In a land far away
Time stood still long ago
There were shepherds in fields
Or at least this is how
The story goes
The story goes
Woman with child
And a man with no room
Born in a manger
For telling it too
This is how
The story goes
But it is more than a fable
And it’s more than a fairytale
And more than my mind can conceive

I believe
The Wiseman saw
The baby born the angels called the son of God Heaven’s child
The great I am
Born to take away my sins through nailed pierced hands
Emmanuel has come

I believe
Two thousand years
Still the story lives on
God’s gift to us sent to earth wrapped in flesh
His only son
His only son
And the heartbeat of heaven
Confounded our wisdom
But it’s still the simple truth
That sets me free

I believe
The Wiseman saw
The baby born that the angels called the son of God Heaven’s child
The great I am born to take away my sins through nailed pierced hands
Emmanuel has come

And I believe
Precious child how can it be that God’s great plan
For His story would send you to
The lonely tree
That You would come
For one like me

I believe in a cross
I believe He came for one, He came for all Heavens child became a plan
Gave His life for me in spite of all
I am
I believe
I believe
Oh I believe
Christmas lives in me
I believe

Oh Holy Night

"Oh Holy Night" is another of my favourite well-known Christmas Carol which composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847. This track was in Celine Dion's christmas album - "These Are Special Times" which released on 30 October, 1998.

OH HOLY NIGHT

O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til He appeared and the soul felt it's worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoyces
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees

O hear the angel voices
O night divine!
O night when Christ was born
O night divine!
O night, O night divine!

And in His Name, all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise his holy name
Christ is the Lord!
Their name forever praise we

Noel, Noel
O night, O night Divine
Noel, Noel
O night, O night Divine
Noel, Noel
O night, O holy Night

Silent Night

One of my all-time favourite Christmas Carol - Silent Night. Love Sarah McLachlan for her wonderful voice and this track was in her Christmas album - "Wintersong" which released in October 2006.

SILENT NIGHT - Sarah McLachlan

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth

Found the song sung by Olivia Newton John was nice too.

So You Would Come

God would wants us to be tender-hearted (having a compassionate, kindly and sensitive disposition), however, a tender-heart is not only easily touched but it is also easily hurt when it feels like the heart is leaking which some will never get over such heartbreak.

"Times heals all wounds", meaning the negative feelings eventually erode away or a painful difficult situation will seem less bad as time passes and is that a true statement? Personally, I dont agreed with it unless we deal with it (acknowledged and processed), otherwise it may resurface again with the right trigger. By trying to brush aside traumas and hurts in lives and it doesnt help as time doesn't heal anything, time simply passes. It is what we do with our lives while time is passing that either helps us, heals us or keeps us stuck.

Recently, heard alot of unforgiveness hearts around (be it physically or emotionally abusive) and sadly to see that it has indirectly affecting the person's physical growth and development plus culturally and emotionally affected. Found this article thru googling - Five Steps to Spiritual and Emotional Healing and hope it will helps in better understanding and dealing with it.

I know that God heals hearts, because He has healed mine. For everything under the heaven, God had a purpose in allowing us to be wounded and He can work all things together for our good.

"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Genesis 50-20
Remember that Jesus has suffered the most grueling and painful cruxification ever devised by man which He has voluntarily endured all these for us and there's nothing that God placed in our life that we can't overcome it. To fight like King David when facing a giant, Goliath and to move the mountain when we can't seem to get thru. All things are possible thru Him!

God bless!

SO YOU WOULD COME - Hillsong

Before the world began
You were on His mind
And every tear you cry
Is precious in His eyes

Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come

Nothing you can do
Could make Him love you more
And nothing that you've done
Could make Him close the door

Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come

Come to the Father
Though your gift is small
Broken hearts, broken lives
He will take them all
The power of the Word
The power of His blood
Everything was done
So you would come

Everytime

"Everytime" by pop singer-songwriter Britney Spears from her fourth studio album - "In the Zone" which was released on May 17, 2004. The song was written by Spears and a tragic ballad. Dont really fancy on her songs much but found this song delicate with the lyrics and tune.

EVERYTIME - Britney Spears

Notice me, take my hand
Why are we strangers when
Our love is strong
Why carry on without me

Everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, it's haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

I make believe that you are here
It's the only way I see clear
What have I done
You seem to move on easy

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

I may have made it rain
Please forgive me
My weakness caused you pain
And this song's my sorry

At night I pray
That soon your face will fade away

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

Serenity

Today, we live in a fast-paced world, a complex society with the radically changed human relationship in a different aspect of life. When everything seems out of our control, we tend to spend countless hours, and spend great amounts of energy trying to control and change people and circumstances that around us. Unfortuantely, this is not the right attitude in life.

"Have the serenity to accept the things that cannot change, the courage to change those we can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

A very powerful beautiful statement and very good principles to live our life by theologian Niebuhr, Reinhold (1892 - 1971).

Well, what does it means?

Firstly, the first part (have the serenity to accept the things that cannot change) means some things we cannot change and we have to accept it. Wandering what are the things that we cannot change and found this book thru googled - "The Five Things We Cannot Change" written by psychotherapist, David Richo.

There are certain facts of life that we cannot change - the unavoidable "givens" of human existence:
(1) everything changes and ends
(2) things do not always go according to plan
(3) life is not always fair
(4) pain is a part of life and
(5) people are not loving and loyal all the time

Because we are all powerless over these givens which is why we have no control to change over it. In the book, Richo suggests that we must embrace them with an "unconditional yes". He argues that by facing life's unchangeable facts head on, these givens become graces rather than curses, with health and happiness flowing from this. Personally, I do partly agreed with the writter as since we don't have the control over these givens then learning acceptance is especially important instead of blaming others or blaming the unfavorable condition for the problems. However, an "unconditional yes" to means characteristics (alcoholics, alanon, overeaters, gamblers, narcotics and probably several others) is unacceptable to myself as it can be difficult, painful and sorrow to deal in life.

The second part (the courage to change those we can) means the things that we can change, we have to have the courage to change them. In life, we cannot really change anything except ourselves. We need to be able to accept people for who they are and accept circumstances and outcomes how they happen. If we can't accept for people who they are, we have to have the courage to change ourselves rather keep continually trying and controlling what is obviously out of our power to change.

The third part (and the wisdom to know the differnce) means we have to know the difference of what we can or can not change (to know that we can only change ourselves). Don't dwell into unforgiveness, sadness, hate, anger and fear for circumstances and outcomes happened that we have no power over it but be exuberance and appreciate the enjoyments of life instead.

For everything there is a season, a time for every matter (purpose) under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die
A time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted
A time to kill and a time to heal
A time to break down and a time to build up
A time to weep and a time to laugh
A time to mourn and a time to dance
A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones together
A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing
A time to seek and a time to lose
A time to keep and a time to throw away
A time to tear and a time to sew
A time to keep silence and a time to speak
A time to love and a time to hate
A time for war and a time for peace.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

"Celebrate we will, because life is short but sweet for certain."

God bless!

Extraordinary

Extraordinary - the definition in the web is beyond what is ordinary or usual which is highly unusual or exceptional or remarkable to a very conspicuous degree.

Happened to view this advertisement from FB and was moved by the handicap girl who successfully won the appreciation and amazement from the audience by performing Pachelbel's Canon in D on stage despite facing a lots of unacceptance, criticising, discouragement and challenges.

In life, we are faced with challenges and is a way we experience our life – as a struggle to survive or as an ongoing adventure in our growth and fulfillment. Obstacles in life cannot be shunned, only determined people can enjoy life. Though it can appear that our problems come from other people, society and circumstances, in fact, they arise to support our personal growth in consciousness. Every challenge is a purpose in our life, because we are not yet familiar with it, we have to learn what it is and how to incorporate it into our life perfectly.

When we face a challenge, we can either accept and open to the lesson or we can escape it and resist our opportunity to grow. If one's mind thinks one can do something, whatever the problem is, one's determination would successfully conquer the obstacle sooner or later. Whenever there is a will, there will always be a way.

Found this website - Life Challenges thru googling which shows all about life challenges in life and hope it benefit, enlighten and improve the path in our life.

Dreams are like stars in the sky, we may never touch them but if we will to follow them and they will lead us to our destiny. Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, we have within us the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.

I love one part in the advertisement when the handicap girl asked, "Why am I different from others?" and the answer to her was "Why do u have to be like others?" Precisely! Close your eyes, feel it, be yourself, dream it, meet the challenges and fly like an eagle ... ...

Life is a gift, accept it.
Life is an opportunity, capture it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is a goal, achieve it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
In life, the best revenge is living.

God bless!
