This Is Our God

"This Is Our God" is the seventeenth live praise and worship album which released in 2008, coinciding with the annual Hillsong Conference held at the Acer Arena. The album was at the #2 on the ARIA (the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association) Top 50 Albums Chart in Australia.

THIS IS OUR GOD - Hillsong

Your grace is enough
More than I need
At Your word I will believe
I wait for You
Draw near again
Let Your Spirit make me new

I will fall at Your feet
I will fall at Your feet
And I will worship You here

Your presence in me
Jesus light the way
By the power of Your word
I am restored
I am redeemed
By Your Spirit I am free

I will fall at Your feet
I will fall at Your feet
And I will worship You here

Freely You gave it all for us
Surrendered Your life upon that cross
Great is the love
Poured out for all
This is our God
Lifted on high from death to life
Forever our God is glorified
Servant and King
Rescued the world
This is our God

I will fall at Your feet
I will fall at Your feet
And I will worship You here

Father And Sons

Just finished watching the last episode of a Hong Kong TVB modern drama series - Father and Sons《爸爸閉翳》(25 episodes) which broadcast in August 2007 and shown in the local TV programme. Eventhough, have purchased the DVD in year 2008 but never have the time to watch it.

Since I have this habit of turning on the TV whenever I reached home or working on my notebook and it catched my attention in chasing after this drama series after a few episodes.

I loved this drama series, especially the last episode and nearly make me shed my tears. Again, it helps us to understand the importance things that we should treasure in life - kinship.

"In the world all things have their value, kinship alone is priceless."
(世上萬物,皆有其價值,唯獨親情是無價).

Dont wait till we lose it, then we realised is too late and regret for it. Life is so short to wait for things to happen, learn to cherish everyone and everything around us. Tell them how much you love them, hug them as much as you can, apologise to them if you need to, achieve for whatever your dreams and live life to the fullest in the least of regrets.

Peace of Heart

"If there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, there must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, there must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors, there must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, there must be peace in the heart." ~ Lao Tse, 6th Century B.C.

The world around us is ever-changing, we are in a culture right now in the world that is fostering, festering, stirring up, strife, bitterness and unforgiveness. Instability and insecurity are everywhere, at every age and social level and in almost every walk of life. There are unhappy people as seen in their preoccupation with sex, drugs and drink to maintain some semblance of security by escaping from the realities of life into a world of fantasy created by themselves. Sadly to see these people who ruin their health as well as their lives by taking the poison of bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness. Love is the exact opposite of unforgiveness, envy, jealousy, hate, pride and bitterness. We can have peace in the heart only if we learn to truly forgive and love one another.

"Every act of love is a work of peace, no matter how small." ~ Mother Theresa

Have heard that to forgive and to forget while personally, learn to forgive but not to forget; to learn from the past and not repeating it and dont dwell in the past. By embracing forgiveness, we embrace peace, hope, gratitude and joy. Here's the Nine Steps to Forgiveness.

To love others is to love yourself first. What will draw to you is exactly what you have created in life, and what you believe you are worthy of. So loving yourself can create love in your life. Here's the Tips For How To Love Yourself.

Found this song, Love by John Winston Ono Lennon (9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) as one of the founding members of The Beatles. He is ranked the second most successful songwriter in UK singles chart history after McCartney.

Love this soft and smoothing song for its simple lyrics.

LOVE - John Lennon

Love is real, real is love
Love is feeling, feeling is love
Love is wanting to be loved

Love is touch, touch is love
Love is reaching, reaching love
Love is asking to be loved

Love is you, you and me
Love is knowing we can be

Love is free, free is love
Love is living, living love
Love is needing to be loved

Choosing The Right Partner For Life

"Love has great potential to enrich your life. But if you are just playing a role, pretending to love, it's only going to poison you. Because you are teaching yourself that it's just a game, and slowly but surely you will lose the capacity to open in love."

Well, sometimes we are just confused as to whether we really love the person or merely an attraction or just an infatuation in a blind relationship. Many have just simply taking relationship into marriage as the result of evolutionary process and social development to set a family as the value of co-operation with their partner in bringing up children and sharing in the caring for them and for each other. However, there's another side of the truth of finding the right partner and setting up a family as being a Christian.

Choosing The Right Partner For Life by Kong Kee (born 23 August 1964), the founder, honorary and volunteer senior pastor of City Harvest Church in Singapore. Brought this audion summon CD a few years back and found it enriching as it helps to deepen our understanding of ourself, relationships and people around.

Here's the content:

God's Purpose For A Family
The truth is God has not only formed male and female individuals, but He also has designed to use marriage and the family to accomplish His overall purposes. To help parents adopt God's purpose for their family and understand their key role in shaping godly children. God's blessing upon each of these couples would be shown when they would bear forth a new person that united resemblances of both the father and mother. God encouraged this process by commanding the couples to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:27,28).

Eight Types Of Relationships That Won't Work
- You care more about your partner more than he does about you for a very long period of time.
- You are in love with your partner's potential (for who you wish to be instead for who he/she is).
- You are in a rescue mission.
- You look up to your partner as a role model (and you'll find yourself loosing your own identity).
- You are in love with your partner only for the external reason.
- You and your partner are really trench or team buddy.
- You choose a partner in order to be rebellious.
- Your partner is unavailable.

Eight Fatal Flaws
- Anger
- Control freak
- Victim consciousness
- Sexual immorality
- Your partner has not grow up
- Emotional unavailable
- Those that have not recover from past relationship
- Emotionally damage from childhood

Seven Qualities To Look For In A Mate
- Commitment to personal growth (spiritually and mentally)
- Emotional openness
- Integrity
- Maturity and responsibility
- Healthy self esteem
- Positive attitude towards life
- Personal chemistry (which is most important quality despite having all the above six qualities)

Compatibility & Commitment
- Significant age difference where like more than 10 years.
- Different spiritual conviction.
- Different social ethnic and social background.
- Overbearing In-laws.
- Long distance relationship.

I always have this rescue mission in me, a natural instinct for almost every women. Trying to help, improve and change the other person to become a better person in exchange for the love that I always hunger for during my childhood. Obviously, the relationship doesnt work out most of the time cos to love someone is to love for who he/she is now and not thinking to change him/her to be someone else. The reason is simple, is a bonus if the person change for better but usually a rare cases for is hard to change someone when it has become a habitual character in him/her (Im talking about mean bad habits here). So try not to build a relationship upon fear, insecurity and pity as it will never last and will only give unhappiness and sorrow in life. If there are too many ifs, ands or buts in a relationship then sooner or later the relationship is bound to fail. Hope the above helps to lead you towards making the right decision as to choosing the right partner in life.

"A soulmate is someone who has the locks that fit our keys, an keys to fit our lock and a perfect match is the one that holds your hand as you are lowering your parents' bodies into the grave for the last time."

God bless!

If You're Not The One

Cant remember how I get to know this song recently, a song by a New Zealand-born, British singer-songwriter, Daniel John Bedingfield (December 1979). Dont know the singer well but love this song and the lyrics when the first time I hear it. Is so sensual and beautiful.

To love someone is to allow the person to point the gun at your heart and hope that he/she will not trigger it.

"How can one truly define what love is? Not even an experienced person can truly grasp or explain love to its truest and deepest meaning. Its concepts are just a never ending story of an open book of experiences. But love does lie in one's heart, where memories are but shadows lingering in our soul."

IF YOU'RE NOT THE ONE - John Bedingfield

If you're not the one then why does my soul feel glad today?
If you're not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way?
If you are not mine then why does your heart return my call?
If you are not mine would I have the strength to stand at all?

I never know what the future brings
But I know you're here with me now
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

If I don't need you then why am I crying on my bed?
If I don't need you then why does your name resound in my head?
If you're not for me then why does this distance maim my life?
If you're not for me then why do I dream of you as my wife?

I don't know why you're so far away
But I know that this much is true
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I'm praying you're the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

'Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away
And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today
'Cause I love you, whether it's wrong or right
And though I can't be with you tonight
You know my heart is by your side

I don’t wanna run away but I can’t take it, I don’t understand
If I’m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

Titanic

Can't really remember how many times I have watched this film - Titanic, directed by James Cameron when it was released on December 1997. At least seven times in the theatre at that time I guess and indeed Im a Titanic buff. Well, this is one of the most wonderful films of the 20th Century that I have had watched which will never forget.

As I re-watched the film again after so many years later and I still transfixed with it eventhough it was not based on historical of the sinking ship, Titanic (the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters), many of the characters were not real and the fictional love story in the film, yet I love every details in it.

It brought me back to 1997 when I can remember how captivated I am to this film even now. It felt like you were on the ship, how you might have reacted had you been in that situation in time of crisis of live and death when the ship hit the iceberg on the starboard side and about to sink.

Despite the tragic love story of two different social classes of Rose Dewitt Bukater and Jack Dawson, there are many expatiates in the film shows everyone reacts differently in time of lives and death. Officer Murdoch turns his gun on himself after shooting two passengers who are rushing a lifeboat (took a pride and lack of integrity in the film - fictional), a third class mother attempting to sing her children to sleep (as being hopeless), gates locked which barred the third class passengers below the ship to stop them from taking a first class passenger's seat on a lifeboat (a different treatment of classes), Captain Smith enter the bridge and grasp the wheel as water crashes in, Titanic's band continue to play as the ship went under (by the way, Jonathan Evans Jones, the actor who portrayed Wallace Hartley in the film is a professional violinist).

It was a breathtaking when seeing the ship slowly go under the sea, people jumping off from the ship and a hundred freezing people screaming for help that never comes ... ...

In the end of the film, an old couple embracing in bed as water pours into their cabin. Found out that this old couple was non-fictional and in real life, they were both offered a place on lifeboat, but the old man chose to stay on the Titanic so long as there were women who remained on the ship. His wife refused to abandon her husband and said, "We have been living together for many years. Where you go, I go." The couple was last seen sitting on a pair of deck chairs (not lying in bed like in the film). I was totally being moved by this old couple (even there is no script for them in the film) for they have truly show "till death do them apart".

One thing amazed me about this film after so many years, in fact it was Director James Cameron did the sketch of Rose wearing the necklace. It is actually Cameron's hand, not Leonardo DiCaprio's in the movie. James Cameron also drew all of the pictures in Jack's sketchbook. That's impressive!

MY HEART WILL GO ON
Celin Dion

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life well always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

You're here, theres nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Because You Loved Me

"Because You Loved Me" is a hit song from Celine Dion's album "Falling Into You" which released as the first single on February 19, 1996 in North America and Japan.

It was written by Diane Warren as a tribute to her father for his encouragement and was featured in this romance film - Up! Close & Personal directed by Jon Avnet (released on March 1996).

Love this song, especially the lyrics which touches my heart.

BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME - Celine Dion

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

Miracle

Dont wait for miracle, your whole life is a miracle ~ Albert Einstein (14 March 1879–18 April 1955).

What is a miracle? A marvellous event manifesting a supernatural act of a divine agent. Well, still not convincing as how do I make my life a miracle in a supernatural act, so I continue to search for the answer and I found these articles:

Lessons for Living

Any amazing or wonderful occurrence in a least expectation will be a miracle. We dont wait for miracle but instead make the miracle out of life. How? Once we know what comes first in life - a positive thinking.

A thought reaps an action, an action reaps a habit
A habit reaps a character & a character reaps a destiny.

Life is what we make out of it, choose to live happily, simple and to the fullest.

God bless!

The Red Volin (紅提琴)

Got to know this movie - The Red Violin (紅提琴) while surfing the net for violin music. Is a 1998 Canadian drama film, directed by François Girard and released on June 11, 1999. Throughout the movie, the solos are played by Joshua David Bell (born Dec 1967), an American Grammy Award-winning violinsit and is a gratification while watching the movie with the music.

The film spans three centuries since year 1681 and five countries (Cremona, Italy; Vienna, Austria; Oxford, England; Shanghai, China and Montreal, Canada) as it tells the history of a violin and its many owners when the violin is being auctioned in Canada in the start of the movie. A path from Europe to Communist China to our time. Nicolo Bussotti is an Italian master violin maker in the 17th century who is married to Anna Rudolfi and pregnant with their first child. Anna sees her servant Cesca and asks for a Tarot reading with five cards. In the meantime, Nicolo has custom a new violin, one that he considers his masterpiece for his child. It is later revealed in the film that the last violin that he would make after Anna and the baby died during her complications childbirth.

As the cards are turned, a different event in the life of the violin and its many owners is predicted and shown where none of the owners know the secret of the "Red Violin" which was made varnished with Anna's blood with a brush made from her hair.

The predictions:
- First card signifies that Anna would live a long life.
- Second card means disease and suffering for those around Anna (in essence, the violin).
- Third card means seduction at the hands of the person she could only consider to be the devil.
- Fourth card means tough times ahead, featuring a trial and persecution.
- Final card means a rebirth.

Saw the trailer and the comments on the website (which is worthy to watch) and wanted to watch the movie, unfortunately, unable to find the DVD after searching thru several audio shops. Nevertheless, manage to watch it in youku.com eventhough is a bit slow.

While watching, "The Red Violin" reminds us just how important it might be when we are searching for perfection. Driving towards musical perfection as the primary priority and risking life to protect from destroying which encased in this one little volin. For a moment, we are lost in the movie as what is important in life? The historical red violin or something more significant.

Being happy doesnt means to have everything in perfect, but to decide and look beyond the imperfections in life. Strive for excellence instead, as perfection rarely leads to happiness with two simple reasons: (1) no one is perfect and (2) the ability to control the situation.
Hmm ... ... is time for me to take out my violin to practice (not perfect tune but trying my best).

I Will Remember You

Brought the CD - Closer the Best of Sarah McLachlan on yesterday. Sarah born in Jan 1968, a canadian musician, a pop singer and as well as a songwriter.

Love her songs, especially this one, I Will Remember You, it was being used often to remember human beings who have died in disasters like the September 11 attacks and those who have lost their love one. This song has touched my heart in many ways.

I WILL REMEMBER YOU - Sarah McLachlan

I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by, weep not for the memories
Remember the good times that we had? I let them slip away from us when things got bad
How clearly I first saw you smiling in the sun
Wanna feel your warmth upon me, I wanna be the one
I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by, weep not for the memories

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standing on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard
But I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by, weep not for the memories

I'm so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose
Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose
Once there was a darkness, deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light
And I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by, weep not for the memories
And I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by, weep not for the memories
Weep not for the memories

City of Angels

City of Angels is a romance film directed by Brad Silberling in Year 1998 and cast by Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan.

As I re-watched the film and I was being moved once again by the character, Seth who played by Nicolas Cage, "I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss of her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it."

Seth is one of many angels who watch over humans and protect them in an unseen ways and his main responsibility is to appear to those who are close to death and guide them to the next life. One day, he met this surgeon, Maggie Rice, felt fascinated with her and decided to become human by way of the free will granted to angels. Both Seth and Maggie felt in love with each other, unfortunately, their happiness is short as Maggie died in a road accident. Now, Seth is alone, grieving and mourns for Maggie but he has never regrets for his decision to become a human.

One day, we will be in the arms of the angel, so make each moments count and matter! Experience, appreciate, cherish and value life for the most priceless assets that have been fortunately bestowed with to us.

Make sure its worth watching.

ANGEL - Sarah McLachlan
Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it ok
There's always some reason to feel “not good enough"?
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction, oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless, and maybe I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of an Angel, fly away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of an Angel, far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
In the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here

CT (Cytopathology) Scan

Went for medical appointment at Raffles Hospital on last week and the doctor, Dr Ekachai Danpanich was explaining the several tests that I will need to take to identify the cause of the constant high red blood cells found in urinalysis.

The tests are:
- Blood test (ESR-Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate & Anti-Nuclear Antibody)
- Urine test (Urine Protein, Creatinine & Urine Culture)
- CT Scan

Is my first experience with CT scan and just like X-ray scanning which will need to remove all items from the body and changed to a hospital gown. Into the scanning room, I was asked to lie still on a narrow table that slides into the center of the CT scanner with my arms holding up. Sometime, I will need to hold my breath for short periods of time. The computer workstation that processes the imaging information is located in a separate room, where the technologist operates the scanner and monitors the examination. Generally, the whole complete scans will take around a few minutes.

The result shown no malignant cells seens and no significant urographic (for discovering cysts or other internal blockages) abnormality is detected. Despite, my cancer tumor marker has went down to 43.4. PTL!

Meanwhile, still pending for the result on anti-nuclear antibody (for autoimmune disease) and urine culture (to diagnose Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)).

Well, Im not so worry about it cos at least, no cancer cells were being detected.

Here's some brief information on the diagnostic tests:
  • X-rays are produced by means of a source that radiates x-rays through a particular body part (e.g. spine) and are best for looking at bone.
  • The CT (Cytopathology) scanner is typically a large, box like machine with a hole, or short tunnel, in the center. It combines special x-ray equipment (uses multiple x-ray beams projected at many angles in conjunction) with sophisticated computers resources to produce multiple three-dimensional cross-sectional images or pictures of the inside of the body on a computer monitor. It diagnose problems such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

  • MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan uses magnetic and radio waves (meaning that there is no exposure to x-rays or any other damaging forms of radiation) for examining the brain and spinal cord. The patient lies inside a large, cylinder-shaped magnet. Radio waves of 10,000 to 30,000 times stronger than the magnetic field of the earth are sent through the body. It is the best technique when it comes to finding tumours (benign or malignant abnormal growths) in the brain. The MRI scan is also able to show both the heart and the large blood vessels in the surrounding tissue to examine the joints, spine and sometimes the soft parts of the body such as the liver, kidneys and spleen.
The difference between CT scan and MRI scan is that with an MRI scan it is possible to take pictures from almost every angle, whereas a CT scan only shows pictures horizontally.

Oktoberfest 2009

Oktoberfest is a running fair of sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Germany since 18 October, 1810 (to celebrate Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese), an important part of Bavarian culture and is now the largest fair in Europe. This year, the celebration started on 19 Sept to 04 Oct.

In Oktoberfest, beer is a central point for the festival as is the traditional German food. Oktoberfest has a special beer they brew for the festival each year that is darker and stronger than other beers.

In Singapore, the Swiss Club organized an evening out to celebrate the ultimate event for fans of beer and group jollity on 02 Oct 2009. The event started at 7pm in a big tent and the menu was reassuringly Bavarian style - Wurstsalat (sliced Regensburger sausage), Leberknoedelsuppe (liver dumpling in clear soup), Wiener schnitzel (breaded veal schnitzel and steamed asparagus and potatoes), my favourite Schweinshaxe (grilled pork knuckle with sauerkraut and bread dumpling), pretzel, gingerbread and much more which I wish I can have a taste of all dishes but unfortunately, my stomach was too full. A simple rule of Oktoberfest - "eat properly before starting to drink the bear" and the live bands started playing with their oomph-pa-pa music after couple of hours dinner section. Many guests were inspired to dance and some even stand up and dance on the table.

Some guests (not sure whether they are Bavarian) were wearing the traditional oktoberfest custumes. Men will wear lederhosen which are short pants with suspenders and knee socks with clogs or other traditional shoes. For women will wear the dirndl, a dress with a close-fitting bodice and full skirt gathered at the waist, usually about knee-length. It looks beautiful and captivating, hmmm ... ... maybe will try the dirndl on next year (if there's a chance).

It just felt like Oktoberfest in Munich with the food, the beer and the toasting “Oans, zwoa, drei, gsuffa” which means “one, two, three, toast and drink” and everyone’s spirits were lifted higher.

What a great atmosphere and a enjoyable night. Thank goodness that my colleagues and I were invited by RZB Singapore to this event for the first time and a great teambonding we have.

The Most Remote Distance

Was in the taxi this morning and the radio station was playing 相遇太早 (蘇永康) while on the way for my medical appointment. The song was totally new to me, I was being affected by its lyrics as it sing to my heart and later found out that it was sang by William So (Su Yong Kang).

While trying to find William So's song, I found this beautiful sad song,
